i heard lord of the rings actually suffered from a higher resolution because it made the green screen/set parts looks much more fake. not sure if that got fixed though

I often get “the 10 best 4ks you have to own” listicles in my newsfeed and it seems odd - buy what you like and it’ll look a bit nicer in 4k.
From what I’ve read:
- 2001 and most of Kubrick’s films
- Dunkirk and most of Christopher Nolan’s films
- Dune
- Lawrence of Arabia
- Lord of the Rings
- John Wick
- The Thing

Controversial take maybe but I’d say Aliens belongs on that list. The AI grain removal is phenomenal and the color grading is the best of any of the home releases.
