Honestly, agreed. I trust Kitfox enough that I highly doubt it’s shovelware, but the art direction does kind of point that direction.
That said, it looks really interesting. Can’t wait to check it out once it releases!

I can’t even think of a mobile game in the ballpark of what this is doing, but its closest competitors are Dwarf Fortress and RimWorld, which aren’t exactly known for being lookers either.

Not according to the voice over or description in the video. It’s also why they quote a Dwarf Fortress developer in the opening seconds, talking about how impressive the simulation is.

I didn’t see any base-building in that trailer. The DF dev may have just been saying it’s an impressive simulation, not that it’s the same genre of game
