Feathercrown@lemmy.world 1 year agoI mean if you support illegally hosted material you can be forced to take down the website. As much as it sucks, piracy is illegal. Anyways, they haven’t defederated, just blocked that community.

In many jurisdictions what they’re doing there isn’t illegal at all. It is well understood that you do not post links out in the open.
Downloading isn’t illegal, sharing is. At least outside of the US (and a few others)
