True. Unfortunately, we had a higher than average level of teen pregnancy, so we apparently didn’t learn anything from our namesake. It’s also sad that I doubt many in my high school know that Troy is in Turkey, most probably think it’s in Greece.
But at least the mascot looked cool (like this, but more ghetto). It unfortunately looked more Roman/Greek than Turkish though, whereas hittite would be a lot more appropriate (and way more unique imo). But we weren’t known for our academics, we were known for sports…

We were the Trojans, which is basically just Turks as well.
