No no .. don't defend him. Go back to The Daily Show around 2007. There was a clip of him nearly every fucking week (usually more than one) for him blatantly lying and bullshitting. He's always been a liar. I thought he was a piece of shit back then and he's still a piece of shit now.
Not saying he's not a liar, or wasn't then, but I don't think 100% of this can be blamed on him being a liar since people with #Dementia will get things wrong all the time.
