That's one of the major reasons I rejected lemmy as an option for what we're doing on goldandblack.xyz. The software is too politicized, it's too edgy teenager, it tries too hard to be rebellious. The forum software you use shouldn't be a virtue signal.

realcaseyrollins 2 years agoInteresting! I've gotten the impression that Lemmy federates quite well. Of course, it doesn't federate has well as lotide does.
But yes, long-term, Lotide's neutral nature makes it a far more likely long-term Fediverse platform than Lemmy.

Posts actually federate on Mastodon and Pleroma! See this as an example:
