quarantine is standard medical practice I believe, that is sound scientifically as far as I know - keeping sick people with contagious disease away from others who can get it, is all I mean
Thats if these illnesses are actually contagions. They also could be the result of similar lifestyles. It might be more than one illness that bring about the same symptoms. The pcr test are trash

Yes, you are right. But quarantining only works with specific diseases, for e.g. Ebola or measles.
There is no evidence till date that quarantining is useful for Flu or Covid which are airborne.
Calling it sloppy when it doesn't work, doesn't prove anything. Its safer to assume it doesn't, till there is concrete examples showing its effective.
Just like the masks, vaccines, lockdowns, quarantines have had no effect on national data (worldometer). The national data shows they are all useless at reducing transmission. Vaccines reduce hospitalisation, but the % is so low, they are worthless unless you are 80+
Please look at my post from last week, where I analysed Covid Death data from Switzerland using Opendata. I clearly show the effects of Vax, Double Vax, Booster & Unvaxd on death rates.
Effectively, Covid death rate is close to the average life expectancy ~83 years. In England, avg Covid death was HIGHER than the life expectancy. Covid has had no effect on reducing life expectancy.
In fact, the excess deaths in 2020 and 2021 have been due to lockdowns - missed cancer treatments, surgeries, lack of exercise, increased diabetes and obesity. Not to mention skyrocketing suicides.
More deaths from govt response than Covid.

I think we are more or less on the same page, I think some quarantine measures work for like the diseases you mentioned. I think they could work a bit for flu maybe.
but everything going on with covid has been an unnecessary clown show it seems.
There is effectively no real social distancing going on when people are breathing everywhere, so theyre not truly quarantining or any of that stuff.
in a real (or worse) pandemic ppl would take stricter measures without anyone telling them to do so. today even if masks work ppl touch them and adjust them so much that they defeat the purpose. ppl wouldnt screw around like this with something like ebola.

Its in the air. Closing your door and windows is not going to stop it. Unless you live in a sealed environment where no air is passing in, you can't stop an airborne virus.
Maybe you are not aware, but viruses generally are in the size range of 100s of nm. 0.5 nm is the size of an atom. So viruses are around 200 times bigger than a SINGLE ATOM. You can't stop the thing if its airborne. Not with a mask, not with social distancing (what a joke), or really any way. It will pass through allmost everything.
Its very unfair to blame the poor people who tried their best to stay in Lockdown but still got it . Nothing they did could have stopped it from spreading.

Sloppy would be like workplaces and schools making everyone use the toilet outside in outhouses that are never cleaned. Indoor fixtures are easier to clean and not as cramped.
