Yeah it’s probably easier than you think, though some emulators are best obtained from git just because it’s the surest way to know you’re getting them from the source. Many also have a dedicated website with download links. There are sites for identifying and downloading emulators, the emulator zone comes to mind, but they’ve been around forever and aren’t necessarily the best at being up to date.
