I recently watched a 20 minute video (the title was like “After watching this you cannot deny that god exists”) and the guy used this story to justify that human suffering exists and is not an argument against the existence of god. So much bullshit and wasted time but oh well…

ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 6 days agoI think that’s my favorite story. God killed Job’s family to win a bet and then just gave him a new wife and children. Because women and children are perfectly interchangeable. As long as you ended up with the same number no harm was done. And his wife and children themselves suffering and dying? Don’t worry about it.
