Okay, you are actually advocating for people to give up. This is like a cattle mindset. The elephant that no longer tries to break the twine around his neck.
Never mind the fact that, no, I’m not underestimating—do I need to remind you what your grandmothers and grandfathers bled for? Are they just better people than you?
I am American, by the way. Do not come at me with that “fuck off european” horseshit.

This implies you think I’m a collectivist. I don’t like most of my fellow Americans as I think they’re broadly backwards morons, why would I fight to help them? There are a small portion I’ve met that are OK people but most of them suck.
They procreated, they’re worse people than me for that. Among other things.
I’m not a virtue ethicist though.
Wasn’t going to. I’m not operating on “You don’t get it, its harder here.” I’m saying its functionally impossible to go from the status quo to a successful leveraged rebellion/revolution here.

That sounds like a very comforting story.
Forgive me if I don’t take protesting advice from a misanthropist.

If you mean that I use it to justify not trying, I’ll tell you I also don’t think I owe you or others such efforts regardless. I did not choose to exist, I was thrust into existence by my parents because my dad failed to convince my mom to abort me. Suddenly now people like yourself expect me to contribute to a project I never choose, humanity, civilization, glorious communist revolution, whatever, like I owe the world.
It wasn’t advice. I just think its a doomed project. Go ahead and try, I’d be happy to be wrong that a good world is possible in my lifetime.
Do not get it twisted, I thought a better world was possible for most of my life. But after 2024 I just realized I had poured an incredibly wasteful amount of energy into political action that has amounted to jack shit in the greater world and no real social life for myself, just scattered connections with other people involved with politics or activism. Only this year have I engaged in more personal attempts at socializing for the sake of fun and I’ve realized I’ve missed out and wasted most of my youth. I have a little youth left and I’m dedicating it hedonistically to myself as the world burns. I now only engage with politics for angry catharsis on Lemmy.
It is desirable that all individuals within the world live good lives, even the ones I dislike. I don’t care about humanity as a collective though, if that makes sense. I’d be content to see it end as long as it ends as humanely as possible for those contained within it.
