There will come a reckoning for the Internet. Corporate social media will eventually crumble. Nothing lasts forever and these corporations are overextending themselves.

I really wish it will turn out this way, but I fear it won’t.
People are really slow and it has to be convenient. They still use Facebook and reddit. Or worse, WhatsApp is absolutely dominant in some countries.

Facebook didn’t exist 25 years ago. All it takes is a couple years of bad decisions by management, a shift in market conditions for them to fall apart.

I know and agree! But that’s the frustrating part. If it’s useful someone will always pick it up. In capitalism there’s this self sustaining loop of abuse.
