Comment on Off-ball effectiveness

I noticed Siakam and Scottie Barnes as top 5 in both transition and half-court off-ball shooting talent and I thought “Ooh, I’m glad we complemented them with 2 more guys who can handle the ball and create their own offence in Quickley and RJ Barrett.” Then I realized that RJ Barrett (in his Knicks jersey) is basically there on the plot too - almost top 5 both ways :D

Yeah this is the interesting thing. We have like a bunch of guys who are top in the league. So we needed better on-ball guys and IQ is an improvement over Schroder.

Dennis is like top 5 backup PG and bottom 5 starting PG, so I def agree we win big by IQ bumping Dennis to the bench. I’m loving that Knicks deal so far. I hope RJ keeps it up and makes those who called him a “toxic asset” look foolish. I think we made a 2 for 1 move, and while we lost defense with OG leaving, I think RJ’s offensive package works better on this team than OG’s

Yeah RJ is a better fit it seems here. He definitely breaks down the defenses that no one we had could do. And a pod said the tempo we play with suits RJ better than the slow plodding pace Knicks play with. So I think we’re seeing the synergies here.
