I don’t know the lines, but my guess is like the rest: Spurs are favored, in 7 likely? I have no idea where the media is on this match up. My sense is, Knicks got OG and a fairly mobile center in KAT who can slow Wemby on offense. But Spurs are most likely going to be effective in slowing Brunson significantly given the likes of Castle and Harper on their roster. Spurs’ guards are bigger and more athletic than Knicks and they can shine on offense and limit Knicks’ shrimps on defense, IF their injuries don’t return and hamper them.
Knicks’ roleplayers will have to overperform in order for them to win, but they do have enough just pieces to do this. The X factor will be Knicks’ away fans - how much of Spurs’ arena will be filled by Knicks fans as early reports indicate they are already buying up huge amounts of tickets before WCFs finished. If Knicks’ fans make Frost Bank Center their home away from home, it just might even up the odds for NY.

Well done Spurs. Congrats. Mitch Johnson outcoached Daignault before the game began. OKC came out tight. their key players not named SGA never found their game. Disappointing performances from Chet, Dort, Caruso and others. Injuries are no excuse. They still had enough depth. I blame this on Daignault. He didn’t prepare his team and their mental approach to this game 7.

Dude, it’s literally tiring replying to you. Those are fouls. Earlier in the series you guys are crying about OKC defense being too physical. If anything Spurs are as much if not more physical. I see the fouls and they are being called fairly evenly or they are not called at all. You are too biased to see the fouls being committed both ways. Spurs’ guards are way bigger and more athletic.
It’s the same player regardless of the series. Wemby is showing himself to be a dirty player. It’s the same organization, and Pop is VERY MUCH still the grand-daddy in current Spurs’ org. He’s still the patriarch. When he came into the locker room after game 5, he had the doors locked and HE held sway in there like he’s the godfather, over the head of current head coach. That is relevant.
I sorta like both SGA and Wemby. I am growing a dislike for both Spurs and OKC. I don’t give a shit if either team goes down. But there is one sided hysteria that’s diabolical and you are part of it. I am sitting here in disbelief how overblown and one-sided this is. Go ahead hate OKC. But there is no realism in the current views, yours and across the social media. Hysteria has blinded you. There’s no use talking to a cult member. I’m out.

Then you aren’t watching Spurs defense. They are just as physical if not MORE than OKC. You don’t see all the quick pushing pulling slapping that SGA suffers at the hands of Castle or other Spurs wing defenders? Don’t just watch the ball. Wemby elbowing Naz in the throat, or telling Bismack coming into the game when the game was all over to lay the wood and then they proceeded to do just that? Or did you not see Bryant who’s much bigger and heftier than the thin SGA literally ramming him 2 possessions in a row?
Pop loved Bowen. He did the dirty job Pop wanted. Otherwise he would have been gone. I still remember how battered and bruised Nash was in his series against Spurs. I’d never seen a player get bruised like a boxer at the end of a fight from a basketball game. To this day. Spurs PR has been good. Pop’s a great orator and speaks well and talks the right values. He also knows how to play dirty to win. And he did.

They were fouls man. I’m seeing fouls not called in last night’s game. Refs called it tighter in game 5. Did you see how Spurs were trucking SGA last night and only one got called? It’s deliberate. Spurs have always been physical and dirty from Pop’s days. Wemby told the subs to beat them up when they went in, in game 5. There’s a real hysteria going on in social media which the TV networks are jumping on. I dislike both teams because they will dominate the league the next 10 years and people are only seeing the one side of the coin. Spurs are dominant, and they are dirtier.

It isn’t the reffing dude. That’s mass hysteria blinding people on social media. You can’t tell me those calls weren’t fouls. You can’t tell me performance by Wemby Fox Castle and Harper were good enough to win game 5. Every time Spurs lose lack of performance from key players have been glaring.

Last game they called arm grabbing on a few OKC players. The Wemby call came after those. I remember the sequence well because social media was crying about Wemby’s arm being held and refs finally called it. And later in the game I had a chuckle when the refs caught Wemby doing it too and called foul on him.

I agree those 2 are dirty plays. I don’t agree that refs are deliberately targeting Wemby for arm holding. It happens all the time in the course of a game - the arm holding, the grabbing the tugging. Most of the time you don’t notice it because you are watching the ball, not where the hands are. This happens on every possession everytime a ball goes up in the air. Don’t watch the ball, watch the hands and you’ll see it. Half the time refs will let it go if they think both are doing the grabbing, half the time they don’t see it because actions are shielded by the bodies. I just don’t agree with special treatment that people are asking to treat Wemby with. He’s a big man, playing a big man’s game. He better be ready to play like a big man. He is a physical freak being that tall with that kind of athleticism and agility and dexterity, he can outplay most bigs but he is skinny as heck, and physicality is his kryptonite. He’s got his natural gifts he can easily outplay the bigger guys. Why handcuff them too where their advantage is.
Wemby is a HUGE problem for the league. With the players Spurs got, this team along with OKC will dominate the league the next 10-15 years. I am NOT going to sit here and listen to Wemby fans ask for special treatment for Wemby that further handicap the rest of the league. It is akin to billionaires asking for more tax breaks. It’s enough.
