Comment on [help] Does the XBOX Series S console have internal volume control?
SolarPunker@slrpnk.net 8 hours agoHave you tried to boost your PC volume using easyeffects? It’s a great audio utility with a lot of plugins to manage tour audio output.

I can actually boost the audio with builtin methods on the PC operating system. But I get a warning doing that for longer period of time will damage the speakers. I don’t actually think it would damage the speakers as I will lower it then. I’m just not sure if this is an ideal solution.

Hmm strange, which distro are you using? If you put a volume limiter at 0db there’s no risk for the speakers. If you boost form easyeffects the warning should not appear in any case.

It’s more of a desktop environment thing, as the warning is baked into the widget. I use KDE Plasma on EndeavourOS. My guess is that the warning is a default warning (not a popup message or anything, just a text in the widget). Because the logic would be that someone already has their speaker set to maximum and need more volume from the operating system. And if one is not careful, this can indeed damage the speakers.
I think in my case its safe, because I set the speaker volume down. The warning message appears always when I enable the toggle to raise over 100%.

Keep it at 100% then boost thru eastyeffects, this audio utility has priority over the normal audio output, you can equalize, limiting and compress also, which is pretty good for medium quality speakers.
