Human ashes are not a fertilizer looked this up years ago, when I was obsessed with finding the most environmentally friendly way to dispose of human bodies. Something to do with with the balance of nutrients, as well as the salt and ph levels I think makes it toxic to plants. Iām pretty sure thatās right but I know its toxic pretty sure its a mixture of those things.
So perfectly safe to flush, your sewage is not going straight into the environment. Itās either treated or held in a septic tank and disposed of after itās emptied.
Sure some stuff may get out of either system, but the dose makes the poison as they say.
I wouldnāt plant tomatoes in a mix of compost and human ashes, but if I scattered it across a whole field of tomatoes there would be no impact.
Depends on dosage. I thought if scattered reasonably it was just not overly effective but ultimately not really a problem either. Crematorium gardens seem alright so I doubt the ashes can be overly toxic.
