officermike@lemmy.world 1 week agoMy wife’s family used to do a Christmas party game where someone prepared a ball of cling wrap with small gifts inside: lottery scratch-offs, cash, candy, trinkets, and liquor nips. We’d sit in a circle and one person would frantically try to unravel the ball while the next person would roll and reroll a pair of dice to try to get doubles. When the dice matched, the ball moved to the next person.

Yeah stuff like that, stocking stuffers, and trying something new are the main legitimate uses. Also if you’re craving a cocktail you know you probably won’t want much of it can be a good way to have a small amount of the ingredient.
I use the mini wine bottles for cooking on days I don’t want more than a glass of wine with dinner (particularly for red wine which my wife doesn’t drink)
