Jiral@lemmy.world 3 days agoYou are fooled by your own habits. Most of the world uses C just fine and why wouldn’ they? The steps of one °C are just what starts to be relevant in daily life. Yes you would totally say it has 13°C and not round up to 5 or 10s. The latter you would only do if your unit has more precision than is needed.
That said, if you want more precision just say 13.4°C. Some wearher forecasts do that but it is really not very releant what comes after the comma for daily weather forecast needs.

What would you say if you wanted less precision? Would you give a range?

I rarely see the need for less precision. If you don’t know the precise temperature you say “around” if you want to describe a range, you just do that “x-y”. Easy.
Like I said, you and I are used to our temperature unit systems, neither is inherently more user friendly than the either.
