That song didn’t come out until '98. I guess Marty could play it, and they could change the name of the band leader to Marvin Semisonic.

The Leonard Cohen song of the same name came out in 1992.

And Tom Waits had the same name on a song twenty years before that. I don’t think I’m off base assuming OP meant the Semisonic one and not all the other songs with the same name that weren’t '90s Billboard top 10s.
