Comment on US will allow truckers to drive 16 hours per day instead of the previous limit of 14 hours

Americans are no dumber than any other demographic. They have, however, been subject to a century-long propaganda campaign to instill subservience to capitalist ideology while those same capitalists have been dismantling any educational system or media outlet that might break that subservience.

Beware of the “Americans dumb” rhetoric, because a false sense of superiority is the exact thing that led Americans to accept the propaganda. It can happen to your country, too (and probably is happening, to be real).

50% of US citizens read at 5th grade level or lower. This doesn’t sound too terrible until you remember that those tests are actually comprehension tests. Majority of us have less comprehensive abilities than we expect out of children, and this was before the “ai” boom, you know it’s gotten exponentially worse already and will continue to decline at an ever accelerating pace. We genuinely are some of the dumbest motherfuckers our species has to offer.

  I guess I’m distinguishing between innately dumb and dumb-by-design. Poor reading comprehension is a result of the intentional dismantling of our education system. It’s not the people’s fault, it’s the capitalists.
