Comment on US will allow truckers to drive 16 hours per day instead of the previous limit of 14 hours

Any truckers in here want to share their thoughts? Is the extra 2 hours of drive time before being forced to stop a benefit for your routes and timetables? Or is being expected to drive 16 hours at a time on every run gonna wear you out?

I’m not a trucker, so I don’t know. I’ve had trucker friends complain about being forced to stop while only a few min out from a delivery. I’ve also had trucker friends complain about driving hours on end without stopping.

Owner operator is much different than employee. If you want to drive and are motivated to do so, that is one thing. If terms of your employment are driver when told to, it sucks ass.

There is a difference between driving straight for 10+ hours and driving and stopping for 10 or more hours…

Im not actually a truck driver but I have done deliveries for 10 hours.

Also I have driven a car for 10 hours straight and hitting that point at least for me driving becomes dangerous the road fucks with your internals… messes with your inner equilibrium and shit… why when you drive you get sleepy for no fucking reason…

So yeah this is greed and a lack of fucking care for human life in general… as per course for the us currently…

Sir, I wasnt driving that past hour, there was an accident and it was gridlocked for the whole hour, I didnt move an inch! Please let me finish my delivery 15 minutes away!
