I mean what does “cause weight gain” even mean because mine didn’t cause weight gain, at least one of mine caused me to feel a black hole in my stomach. I was perpetually hungry, a hunger that I couldn’t satisfy. It also increased suicidal ideation and action and also did not help my depression. Hope this helps!

snowdriftissue@lemmy.world 14 hours agoUnfortunately it’s pretty hard to tease these things apart because depression itself causes weight gain and there are medication adherence issues especially with longer term studies, but the most well-controlled data suggests that sris don’t play much of a role in weight gain for most people
