I give Apple credit. I had windows CE and palm devices before the iphone came out, and they had many of the elements of modern smart devices, but lacked usability. When I bought an ipod touch 1st gen, it was a game changer. Apple brought everything together in a lot of smart ways that changed the game. Whatever you think of Apple or iPhones (I'm not a fan personally) you can't claim they didn't revolutionize the space.
