You’re right, they should be paid “well”, but currently they are grossly overpaid for the amount of actual work we get out of them, and regular people are already priced out of running in the first place. That needs to be corrected. There’s also no reason whatsoever for them to receive a pension for the rest of their unnatural lives, not congress, not the president, no elected official ever. There need to be term limits for every elected seat and every fucking one of them needs to make do with the same healthcare options that every one of us has. But lobbying with gifts and money must be outlawed outright. Insider trading must be outlawed outright. And these rules need to be enforced, strictly with harsh punishment for those who seek to personally profit from their “service”.
