Yeah, they say that, but have you been to Latervaria? The state doctors all work part time, then go work full time at the private hospitals where the money is better. Wait times are terrible, and small local clinics are always put of everything. Most hospitals don’t even have blood on hand for transfusions. They just give you paracetamol and tell you that you were treated.
Not exactly /s, but just the reality of free, public health care in 5 different places I’ve lived. Even in Europe. It’s not all free HRT and love.

Depends on the country. Worst I’ve seen was if you’re not in the queue by 8 or 9 am, you won’t make it through the line before the doctor’s go to their other job they legally shouldn’t have after lunch. So if you know someone in the hospital, you might get a “was here yesterday” ticket and then you come back the next day at 8:00 and are seen before the new line goes. Most people would go get the “was here yesterday” ticket and went home it back to work and try tomorrow. That or they bribe someone to bribe the doctor to get in same day.
So, depends on if 24+ hours and paying for it anyway is better by that metric or not.

Kinda just show up while dying, and if there’s spare blood, you get some. There’s no triage so much as just an “oh shit!” line. If you don’t look like it hurts, then it’s not a priority.
