I wouldn’t consider this as falling, but i get your point, i don’t see why sinking shouldn’t also be falling
I should have specified: at least you won’t die from the impact

Air is not so different from water in the grand scheme of things, we’re just designed for and acclimated to air rather than water. So yeah, I think sinking is at best a subgenre of falling.
