Aielman15@lemmy.world 1 week agoBoth Duckstation (PS1 emulator) and PCSX2 (PS2 emulator) are quick and easy to set up nowadays, but you have to download the bios file, which I guess is the “super illegal” file you were talking about.
It’s as easy as typing “ps1 bios download” on Google though.

Yeah the bios thats the word I was blanking on. Maybe i just ended up in the wrong places but it turned out there was like 8 different versions and multiple regions of each version and I kept running out of patience before running out of options.

Just download the most recent/updated for each of the regions (JP, EU, USA), although you’ll almost certainly only need the US one.
