Malica@lemmy.zip 2 weeks agoThey know it harms productivity. I think you’ll find, for many of the elite, cruelty is as much the point as profit, sometimes more. This will lose them productivity and therefore money, but it will gain them sadistic glee.

They probably see this as “culling the weak.”
Eventually they’ll have a workforce working for pennies on the dollar that can withstand high temperatures and don’t mind skipping breaks or something.
