Having a union allows them to represent themselves, it doesn’t mean the other parties involved don’t have power. It’s about balancing things out so nobody is getting taken advantage of. Yeah, police unions are a problem, but it’s because the balance of power is out of whack, not because the concept itself is bad. To compare a teachers union to that is laughable, they’re not taking advantage of anyone, they’re holding on by the skin of their teeth.
