unitedwithme@lemmy.today 2 days agoIt’s gigawatts but they mispronounced it because, well, in the movie it’s 1955 and they much power was probably never heard of. IMO it was said wrong on purpose to show how absurd it was.

I read on the wiki that the expert they brought in used that pronunciation, and (not knowing any better), it was the one the actor used.
