HeyJoe@lemmy.world 1 day agoAs someone who lives in 1 of those areas and visited Texas once 3 years ago I agree… I never had bbq ever like that before. Thats all we did for 3 days straight, bbq, brewery, bbq, brewery, concert festival at night. Best trip I had in a long time.

Texas has the shittiest fucking barbecue. To the point where they shouldn’t even be fucking calling it barbecue it’s fucking garbage. If someone asked if you want barbecue in Texas, you should expect a fucking sausage on a tortilla. Fucking trash.

You are definitely wrong. La BBQ was one of the best meals of my life and then they ended up getting a Michelin star. There are other Austin places like Moreno’s that are also amazing. Any time I visit I go straight to BBQ places.
