To my original point, she is either minimizing the threat Russia poses, or is just extremely misinformed which I suppose you could argue. Her words imply we didn’t try diplomacy, and if we had it could’ve avoided any conflict. This paints Russia as the invader but still a reasonable one that can be talked down.
Juxtapositing her language next to Bernie’s, “I fully support Ukraine in this immoral and unjustified invasion of Ukraine by a despotic ruler in Putin” compared to “I don’t think this can be called anything but an invasion of Ukraine. Russia violated Ukraine’s sovereignty. We need to pursue diplomacy in these situations.” One is clear cut this is a foreign adversary, the other implies we could talk to Putin (and we haven’t been) and reach peace. If it were just this comment, I would have no inclination to believe she was an ML type, but her comments about “bullying Russia” and with no other negative comments about Russia or Putin push it further towards apologia.
