Alien 3 was a better film than Aliens. Also, killing off Newt and Hicks was the right move to bring the film back to its bleak horror roots.

Aliens is such an outlier in the orginal trilogy. Like it’s an action movie jammed in between two horror films. In a way, it’s kind of awesome that it exists like that because the horror gets to ratchet down if you’re watching the whole trilogy. But the genre changing from horror > action > horror has always made it hard for me to compare Aliens to Alien 3. Alien is still the best out of all of them and might be the best sci-fi horror films ever made.
