I definitely agree with you about the storyline. I actually laughed out loud when Kratos stabbed himself at the end. I feel that they were trying to make sure there wasn’t another sequel based on Greek myths.

God of War III. Good gameplay, but what the hell was that story? Kratos kills everyone in an unneccessarily sadistic way, turns the whole world into chaos and ruin and them offs himself with his own sword.
That felt like reading a school shooter fanfiction.

Massive understatement though. GoW3 is still the best western action game to this day.
