  I think smoking should be made prohibitively expensive. So much that nobody wants it anymore.

  Places have tried that. People just switch to cheaper and tax free contraband cigarettes.

    This is one of the things that the Netherlands is doing well. There’s a huge extra tax on cigarettes. I think one cigarette costs about 50-75 euro cents. It should be more imo but it’s in the right direction.
