But for what it’s worth, Facebook is useless for people who don’t use / like it, and useful for those who do; but regardless of the utility of their products, they have an abhorrent human rights record, a delusional executive team, and fascist goals. Also, Zuckerberg doesn’t have enough money because he’ll never have enough money, putting him in the parasite class.

“Careless People” by Sarah Wynn Williams should be required reading for anyone interested in interacting with Meta’s products. I wouldn’t ever ban arguments or users in favour of Facebook’s utility; but I’d counter that even its regular users suffer harms by its use, even if they do keep coming back like gamblers to a slot machine, desperate for a dopamine fix.
