BigDanishGuy@sh.itjust.works 5 months agoWhat I’m more intrigued by is that OP didn’t say that they use any kind of guide or frame to hold the power drill. Try drilling 10cm by hand straight enough that it makes sense to tap the hole.

Free hand, lots of practice. The threaded hole was to add a lift point, didn't need to be perfectly perpendicular
