Thank you! Yeah the only term I could think of was worm drive but after looking that clearly wasn’t it

The initial video I saw them moving the “wire” and figured it was electric but then I noticed it was moving as the handle turned so I looked up a video about the device specifically

I understood what it does but yeah the application of it was really cool. Made me think of it as mechanical circuitry
