Comment on Why do seemingly well-adjusted adults find it acceptable to loudly play tiktoks on public transport?
tanisnikana@lemmy.world 1 week agoWhat I wanna know, is inside the mind of these people, do they not know that at the top of the phone is a smaller quiet speaker for putting against their ear, cause the microphone is at the bottom of the phone? I can clearly see they know there’s a microphone at the bottom, but then they turn on the big speaker and hold the whole phone away from their face?

My favorite is when they talk into the bottom and then quickly move it to their ear and back-and-forth for the whole call because places are louder than their speaker. Like, buddy, there’s a whole setup on your phone for putting it between your ear and your mouth for exactly this situation.
The answer is they want other people to hear their call for whatever reason. My theory: they’re insecure and want to feel important.
