Old school rules, you were supposed to drink flattened lemonade if you were sick. No idea why, probably was made using real lemons at some stage? I’m just guessing.

It is recommended (if I am not mistaken) to drink cola if you are at risk of throwing up. It likely applies to most sodas.

Real ginger ale is because of the ginger. I think people came along and conflated that with sprite.
