Put the jumper in a plastic bag and put it in the freezer for 24 hours. This will stop the itching (which comes from short fibres poking through the yarn). Dunno why it works but it does.

observations on enshitification
this morning put on new alpaca and sheep wool mix jumper, tried it on in shop, it was warm and comfortable fit and felt soft to touch
at home wear for 10 minutes, damn itâs itchy even through long sleeve spencer, why is the wool so crappy,
I wonder if itâs âshoddyâ ie reprocessed wool from recycled garments

I love that people somehow come up with things like this, itâs great.

Standard practice for any woolly item containing cashmere too. If itâs real cashmere, thereâs always a few stiff goat hairs included and they itch something shocking. Freezing the item seems to solve the problem.

ok, thanks, Iâll try it

The enshitifcation of the world just gets me down. I have to actively choose to not think about it because it makes me so angry and upset. In fact, I went into a rant and backspaced the whole thing because Iâm trying to stay calm.
