That’s already being done by the Bluetooth and Wi-Fi on your phone. They don’t need cameras and cameras wouldn’t do any good. Because it’s not identifying you individually they don’t give a shit what you look like. They just care what tech you have installed on your phone already.

you don’t need cameras for that, the app could just broadcast some kind of wireless beacon and it would be far cheaper.
