modus@lemmy.world 14 hours agoAmish communities can have phones if they vote for it amongst themselves. The one I saw was a community landline. They had just one in a little shed along the driveway.

Yeah, my understanding is that typically a shopkeeper or someone like that might have an old-style cell dumbphone, without the Facebooks and stuff.
