Comment on Do americans living in Red States really despise american living in Blue States?
gdog05@lemmy.world 20 hours agoI don’t doubt your experience but the numbers don’t lie on this one. There have been a small number of the urban population (I’ve not the numbers on how urban they are. If they’re in the suburbs or actual cities) that moved to more rural areas since the start of COVID. The number is quickly slowing down and it was small enough to not make a big impact in any one area. If you grew up in a rural area, think about anyone you knew from a city. And then think about the kids who go off to college (colleges aren’t real big in rural areas) and who never came back.

Oh, I didn’t mean the moving part. I agree with that. It was the city people know everything there is to know about rural life I disagree with.

That wasn’t claim I was intending to make, apologies if it came across that way. No, I think it’s something you have to experience personally. The only point I was trying to make is that there are more people with that experience in cities than there are with city experience in rural areas.
