Yeah, it displays a serious lack of self reflection. I was on a bad track as a teenager/young adult, hating the world and being a real dick about it. Eventually I realized that feeling so pissed off and lonely all the time actually sucks and I should work on myself to try and improve that situation and have a more positive impact on people’s lives. It took some time and a lot of effort but it worked out okay and I’m widely considered to be a fairly likeable person now.

This person and people like them clearly haven’t made the effort to be better and don’t deserve our patience until they’ve done something to improve. It’s sad that circumstances have led them to be where they are and we should do what we can to prevent others from ending up there but it’s not our responsibility to accept abuse from damaged people.
