I’m not sure what you’re talking about. .ml I think censors words like bitch automatically, but that’s just .ml. I’m allowed to view them. I can see all the secret words.

What do people here think about the censored word list baked into the Lemmy platform code. I haven’t followed the situation for a while but I remember there being one.

Long story short, it was a list of banned words hardcoded into the platform code.

It’s been removed years ago and the censored words were slurs almost every instance filters anyway. That’s the pinnacle of the lemmy devs political opinions getting into the source-code, a hard-code that removes slurs like the n-,f- and r-word.

One can say it’s proof that slippery slope fallacy indeed a fallacy, since they did not start pushing more political opinions into the code, and instead did the opposite and pulled it out
