rontosaurus@lemmy.world 1 day agoGenuinely, as a 15+ year former AoG Christian, you’re not being persecuted man, and neither is Christianity. It’s all an act keep you on the defensive like this and running back to the church because everyone is out to get you and them.
You’re just fine on your own man, and you are a stronger force for good when you are doing it for yourself. It’s scary but just think about it for a bit, and don’t be afraid to question the things you know in your heart are questionable. All the best to you.

I fully agree with you. The Assembly of God, just like any other church associations out there, are man made and their sole purpose is to manipulate the masses. And even more importantly, church is just a place I go to, going or not going has absolutely no bearing in my faith. All men are flawed, none of us can claim perfection. And finally, I can absolutely make it on ky own with God, I don’t need other people for this. I do, however, like going to church every now and then, but it’s not like I will drop delivering a time sensitive project because I have to go to church, that’s focusing on the things of this world, and I’m not interested.
I was part of a pentecostal church once, those tend to be incredibly toxic and full of lies.
