Right, but why would they keep maintenance on these courses going if nobody uses them and only uses their mountainbike to ride to work, over the asphalt? Why not focus on making them better for that instead?

The community at large stopped buying games on disc. Evidently to the point Sony feels confident enough to axe them entirely without too much noise. So far it seems to me they are right, I don’t really see the public outrage you can get with other controversies like the launch state of some games.

And why wouldn’t they honestly, this has been pretty much the reality in the PC landscape since the PS3 era. And yeah, technically on the PC there is “comptetition” in terms of other digital storefronts but it’s mostly the publisher that decide where you buy their game, not you. So in practice it’s highly debateable how much that actually works as proper competition for the consumer.

Sony is now going to have to keep the Playstation interesting to people without offline disc deals, we’ll see how they manage…
