Fire can make more of itself if provided with the required resources, but that’s quite chemical.
Sand makes more of itself if it’s provided with rocks and agitation. Ie wind blown sand make more sand as it erodes rocks.

Sand as a self-replicating device sounds too weird to me but it surprising does tick all the boxes.
Now that I think more about it, that’s actually ingenious! I wish I could upvote you tenfold!
