Mint is cool, but have you tried Bazzite? I just switched a while back and it's been a pretty solid gaming experience.

More importantly, the entire software (shops, operating system) and hardware are not a locked down platform and controlled by a single company. And the Steam prices (one word: sales) and rights (money return rights, games never get rewoked) are the best among the industry.
