  I believe the locations of the buildings are a simple result of this having been made with genAI.

  I interpret this as just Belgium humiliating the US even more after all the humiliation they’ve already inflicted on themselves.

    That, or the fact that it’s a political cartoon, and nobody expects political cartoonists to do meticulous, impeccable research what comes to the appearance of people or buildings or geography or whatnot.

    If they were required to do that, Ben Garrison would have been smoked out out of job decades ago.

    I gathered that from the football kit. The drawing is sending mixed messages. It’s like it’s supposed to be insulting because pissing on a national monument but somebody else already desecrated it so that switches the sense to either being on Trump’s side or being too late to the party.

      The target of this comic is the trump administration. From their point of view, it hasn’t been yet desecrated, and its something they are proud of, so this Belgium lad is actively disrespecting them.

      You’re taking it too literal.

      It’s just a “oops I didn’t know this wasn’t a urinal - looked like other people already peed in it”. This statue is real and is permanently peeing (facing the camera) in Belgium.

      It’s paraphrasing that the USA team’s arrogance during this tournament, but mostly the orange pedophile having a sudden opinion about something he completely doesn’t understand. It’s laughing at actions taken despite complete ignorance and arrogance.

      But mostly it’s just a delicious cartoon that echoes the world’s sentiment really well and works even if you don’t know the backstory of the pool or the peeing dude.
